Ninjas in Pyjamas live to fight another day at DreamHack Masters Malmö after easing past CSGL 16-8 on Cache. Group C's elimination match pitted a Ninjas in Pyjamas team desperate to make amends after being thrashed by dignitas on the opening day of the tournament against CSGL, who had acquitted themselves quite well against Astralis in the first round in Malmö. NiP, who got to play as Terrorist first, opened up the game by winning the pistol round and the corresponding anti-ecos. The first gun round then went CSGL's way, but NiP rallied back in the following round. That trend continued throughout the rest of the first half, with NiP exerting a crushing economic control as CSGL never had any chance to build on the few round wins they were able to secure.
CSGL came out strongly from the break and won the pistol round with a well-executed A split before bagging both anti-ecos. In the first gun round, Adam "friberg" Friberg put his impressive spray control on display to power NiP to win their first round on the CT side as CSGL took too long to react in the afterplant situation. The Polish team still had a decent amount of money to work with, however, and won the following three rounds to reduce the deficit to 8-14, when NiP finally got serious and won back-to-back rounds, locking down the map 16-8.
